She is Destined....
Either the queen will kill her or the Huntsman will transform her into a warrior.

Ten years ago, the stunning and vengeful Queen Ravenna murdered her king the same fateful night she married him. But controlling the now desolate kingdom has begun to take its toll on the evil Queen. To keep her magic and beauty from dying, she must consume a heart that is pure. And the only one that has been under her cruel watch all along belongs to the king's daughter.

Ravenna calls for the imprisoned Snow White, but the young women escapes from the castle and seeks refuge in the Dark Forest. Because the forest is enchanted with magical flora adn deadly fauna, the Queen sends for the only man who has ventured into the woods and survived: a tortured Huntsman called Eric.

With his hope long forsaken, the Huntsman agrees to bring the girl back. But when Eric finds his prey, he hesitates. Will he kill her?

Or will he train her to become the greatest warrior the kingdom has ever know?

In this breathtaking new vision of a legendary tale. Snow White must find her own happy ending.

My Take:

What if the fate of the kingdom rested on your shoulders, for Snow its just that. She is destined to surpass the evil that has inflicted so much hardship for the last 10 years. Queen Ravenna has kept Snow locked up since than, not really knowing Snow was the key to getting what she wanted. The only thing to prevent that was Snow herself, escaping under the hands of the queens men wasn't has easy as some might think, its not until she reaches the forest that she is left. The dark forest can make your last nightmare become real, for Snow running is her only option.

Ravenna sends the only man up to the job of getting back what is hers, Eric the huntsman is a drunk who used to venture in the forest and live to tell about it. So when the queen asks you to go you better go unless of course you don't care, unless of course she offers what was lost to Eric so long before. Eric has no idea what he just did, and for Snow the forest should be the least of her worries because the huntsman is coming for her. Its until the huntsman sees that Snow is the salvation and the one to restore the castle. A battle is underway and the queen is ready to for Snow, her men are ruthless and not even breaking a sweat, its up to Snow to bring down the queen and really bring forth her destiny to light.

Snow White is a classic story about finding what was on the inside and the courage it took to rid of the evil in the land. If you saw the movie that came out a few weeks ago, you think you know what happens but this book was different, you get inside the head of the Huntman, Snow and of course Ravenna. The battle that takes place is actually epic, I loved the way you felt inside the action. Even when you thought Ravenna would win, the hero comes forth. Eric had a nice turn around I thought it would take more for him to train Snow. To be trapped for 10 years and still find the strength to command an army that shows alot of courage and the story of Snow never felt this epic.

For the past five months Essallie Hanley has been trying to forget about the frightening murder of her boyfriend. Haunted by vivid nightmares and hallucinations of the event she does anything she can to pretend she's like every other normal girl in High School.

Only Essallie is far from normal. Able to conjure blue fire and a shimmering silhouette of wings from her body, she seeks the only known solace left to her name; her first home in Belfast, Maine.

But she soon realizes that her return home is only the beginning of a long and twisted road taking her as far from her humanity as possible, with Kayden, the demon originally summoned to slaughter her, leading the way. Unable to touch her but oddly curious, he joins Essallie in her search to find out just what she is. But neither of them were prepared for the secrets they've begun to unravel, secrets that will change Essallie and everyone around her forever.

My Take:

Ever been to a party that changed your life forever, for Essallie going to a party did just that and opened her eyes to secrets she had know idea existed. Five months later after the tragicness she encountered, being sent to live with her brother should've been the one place her nightmares would not harm her, too bad reality isn't all too nice. Because that night is just the start to everything, finding out from a demon your a weapon and also more is one thing, but to find out that your boyfriend was willing to sacrifice you for his benefit, yeah that is a major sign to leave him. But what Essallie has no idea is that Kayden the demon who wants to kill her, also seems to grown found of her.

The thing is that when you touch someone you know you can feel them, but for Kayden, its a little different because when touched by Essallie his touch is short lived. Being a demon has its perks, being able to appear and disappear comes in handy. What is even more crazier is that Essallie power is growing more day by day meaning her even staying in human form and not combusting everything insight is a plus, but she needs everyone willing to help find out how powerful she is and if she can master it. The journey has just begun and conjuring energy is one thing.

I absolutely loved this because even though it was a fast read, I never wanted it to end ever. Of course finding out what she is and how she is able to cope with it is so cool. Essallie is strong enough to and able to mend her own destiny. Being capable to become a weapon is cool but what she does with her power is what will shape the kind of person she wants to be. We are just fortunate and able to read about her journey to finding herself in the process. For me this was hands down a wonderful story and with Kayden its hard not to like the demon your not supposed to. The future can only tell what is in story with Essallie and where her journey will lead.

A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.

My Take:
Ever want something more than to be put behind closed doors, protected comes at a price right? For Dawn being the daughter of the vampire president means that she must be protected, and has been trained just in case. Teaching the children to defend themselves has always been okay job, helping out is something Dawn knows to do. Its until her father allows her to recruit four vampires and train them to protect the town known as Angel Creek. Of course being allowed this comes with her father providing the house with weapons that is needed for the duration of her stay.

Entering a new small town isn't easy at all, because being the talk of the town and add in the fact that she is a vampire makes her presence the topic of the town. Vampires of course came out to the world years before, so being one gains a simple popularity, but for Dawn being a made one is added popularity and of course word spreads like wild fire. Training a vampire team to be the best isn't all that easy, especially when you have Brooke who loves the spot light a little too much, Sophie who always has her head stuck in a book, Hunter who is the drunk in the group, and of course Seth who is new to being a vampire. Her team may seem like a far cry from the towns protectors, but with Dawn's help they learn to become that team. Of course with the added help of super cute Ethan who seems to always pop up. Training seemed to be fine, until a human is kidnapped and since they are a team they rush into to save the day, its until they find out why said human was captured. Turns out being sent to a new small town really stinks just ask Dawn. So when your father sends you to a small town just stay away unless of course the town has someone named Sebastian who looks also familiar too Dawn.

While reading this, I couldn't help but like Sebastian he has this inner soul going for him. Also liked the fact that Dawn grew as a character, with her patience with her team and than rushing to save someone who she saw as a friend, well that was crazy. Even though Ethan popping up every so often was fine I actually liked that he was there. He seemed like the type to want to help in any way, the big question was of course Sebastian and why he didn't want to join in the group training. Also his connection with Dawn omg was that some connection. I loved every minute reading this even though its taken a long time to type what I felt while reading this. The book itself was beautifully crafted and terminated so well, I mean it had me crying so when that happens it usually keeps me speechless for awhile. So you want something swoon worthy this is your ticket

Author Interview and Review: Any Love But Mine by Debbie Davies

Any Love But Mine

Look but don't touch has never been more true...

The gods forbade her to love, but love is a powerful force. Acacia has been created purely for Eros' pleasure but discovers within moments of being summoned into his presence that he has no interest in her whatsoever. Rejected, she is banished to Earth to serve as Eros' minion with the task of promoting the blissful state of love among all those around her, a state she must never indulge in with a human being herself on pain of immediate destruction.

And then comes Josh, someone whose power of attraction over Acacia is so intense she will find it utterly impossible to resist him. But is he human? Is he a god? Or is he a trick of the gods? And what would happen should they kiss?

My Take:

Ever feel that sudden pull to someone and were told not to even consider it ever. For Acacia life is just one mess after another, she was made to love a god and love him forever. But when he doesn't return that love being sent to earth should be a relief right. For Acacia, being made for a god is gaining godlike powers, except the only power she gets is able to link two souls together. Its one thing to be able to match people, and not being able to experience it first hand. Not once has Acacia wanted to feel what they feel until she met Josh. He questioned everything about her, one being why she stared at him the first time their eyes met. But when Acacia is told to leave Josh alone for her own good, she has to decide stay with the one she loves or love the one who doesn't even acknowledge her presence let alone even spend time with.

With time against, and others as well Acacia is thrown through many lopes, one being she isn't the only one made for Eros, 2 others. Amora is the type to get on your nerves no matter what, Allana is the mothery type and the first one made. She loves Eros too much and some how that love isn't enough. With the three of them before Josh came, Acacia thought she it good, a year on earth linking would be fine. Than of course time changes everything, one minute she is the arms of Josh and the next she is thrown in the underworld like she is cattle. Love just got more complicated and for Acacia the first love is always the hardest, because your all in.

While reading this I couldn't help but hope for the happy ending. With Davies writing I was their in the underworld hoping someone would find her, and every time she would link someone I would hope those links wouldn't break and hold forever. The love was evident, I felt it their and hoped like anyone else that love triumph every tough situation. Acacia has an amazing heart and shows courage beyond what is capable for anyone in that situation, but knowing that the one you love is there well nothing can stop you. So go and get your hands on this beautiful story because with courage and a loving heart anything is possible.

I had the privilege to interview Debbie Davies, author of Any Love But Mine, this is her first novel.

Silent T's: While writing Any Love But Mine, what kind of research did you gain?

Debbie: I've always read literature on Greek Mythology so I already had a pretty thorough background from the literary world so what I did was re-read a few of my favorite mythology books just to make sure I had all the details correct that I wanted, then I watched a few documentaries and films that were either based on or inspired by Greek Mythology.

Silent T's: Why Greek Mythology?

Debbie: I love everything about it, even the bad bits! The imagery they present is beautiful and everything they do is driven by emotion. It's just a completely different world. One that is nice to escape into every once in a while.

Silent T's: From the moment Acacia sees Josh its a instant connection, Do you believe in love at first sight?

Debbie: I believe that when you see someone you know deep down whether something could happen with them. So in a way yes I do.

Silent T's: Why does love play a powerful factor, and why was Acacia willing to lose everything for it?

Debbie: Love is the most powerful emotion, I believe it rules us all. It makes us do stupid things, brave things and things we otherwise would never dream of. Love can give meaning to a life but in the same way it can take everything away which is why it is so dangerous. Acacia was willing to lose everything because she didn't really have anything to begin with. Acacia only had what she saw to be a meaningless life until Josh came along and gave it purpose.

Silent T's: If you can say one thing to Acacia what would that be, and Why?

Debbie: Stop thinking so much and start listening to her heart so she can figure out what she truly wants and go for it - oh and slap Amora!

Silent T's: What was you favorite scene to write?

Debbie: I really liked the mermaid scene, the car chase scene and pretty much all the Underworld scenes.

Silent T's: What would you rather be, in the arms of your true love or, in the arms of the one your made for?

Debbie: Arms of you true love.

So if your in the mood for a romance that is forbidden that this will help and also give you a newer perspective on what one can do for love and keep it.
