My Book Boyfriend (6): Sebastian Lamarliere

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme, hosted by Missie at The Unread ReaderWhat is My Book Boyfriend you might ask.  Well it is a weekly meme where we talk about a literary crush including stats, a picture of what you imagine he looks like and some quotes from him that make you swoon.  If you are interested in participating please check out the My Book Boyfriend Introduction Page over at Missie's blog The Unread Reader.

My choice for this week's MBB is Sebastian Lamarliere from Darkness Becomes Her and A Beautiful Evil by the wonderful Kelly Keaton. He is the type that cares and understands any situation, plus with those silver eyes its kinda hard to not get lost in them.

Stats:Age: 17
Eye Color: Grey
Hair color:Black
Description:
Sebastian's eyes were the color of smoke and silver. His pale skin, raven hair, and naturally dark red lips, paired with a rebel attitude and a poet's soul, pulled me in like a dark, magnetic force.

"Because you’re a good person, Ari, one of the best. And because it sounds like we’re about to get into trouble again."- A Beautiful Evil

“Shh. I’ve got you,” a voice said, pulling me out of the darkness. “You don’t have to cry anymore.”- A Beautiful Evil

Sebastian appeared beside me. "She's mine," he said in a calm voice. "I found her first."- Darkness Becomes Her

“Well, just for the record . . . forcing a girl to go all gaga for me isn’t my style.” He paused, his tone doing nothing to hide his amusement. “I like the gaga to be natural.” - A Beautiful Evil

The honor goes to Adam Gregory who is so gorgeous and so fit into what I saw as Sebastian. He is an actor who is currently starring on The Bold and the Beautiful, I first encountered Adam as Ty on 90210, he just drew me to him because of his smile and of course his eyes. Those eyes can literally get anyone to stop everything they are doing, add that smile and swoon all over him.

Myth and mayhem inhabit a richly reimagined New Orleans in this sequel to Darkness Becomes Her.After the epic graveyard battle at the end of Darkness Becomes Her, Ari and her friends know what they’re up against: Ari is facing the Medusa curse and is haunted by the image of what she will become. To make matters worse, the heinous goddess Athena has kidnapped young Violet and is threatening to destroy Ari.

Ari, along with the superhot Sebastian, is doing everything she can to learn more about Athena and to get Violet back. But the battle of good and evil is bigger than she realizes, and she’s about to be pulled into a world more horrific than she could ever imagine....

My Take:

Finding out your cursed and upon your 21st birthday your destined to wreck havoc on the gods, for Ari finding out she is a God is one of the things she found out. Another is that who her father is and what her mother had sacrificed to save Ari all those years before. With some help from a very hot guy, Sebastian, Ari knows that she needs to find her friend Violet and the father she left behind. She owes them that much, but since her power to kill the gods isn't controlled its hard to even consider using the curse that made her own mother take her own life. Coming to grips with the fact that the Medusa curse runs through her, its hard to even consider a relationship with anyone. Even Sebastian has been distant so no love anytime soon. Finding a weakness that can end the goddess Athena is hard but since she is given access to the library she is able to gain some knowledge and hope for some answers to all her questions.

With time ticking down to the day she is to turn into a god killer, Ari must have a plan or plans to bring down the one god who took away everything from her. With help from Henri and Sebastian and of course her findings of how to enter Athena's temple, Ari must take precaution when dealing with a goddess who can easily kill her with one thought. Once inside Ari must know to keep her emotions in check because knowledge is everything and once you show your weakness, whoever it is can use it to their advantage too bad it so happens to Sebastian that is her one weakness. Because she really cares about him and he kinda likes her too and actually wants to see where things go. So yeah that moment for Ari was so intense realizing a guy likes you too is big. With time and her touch Ari must know when to fight and when to stop fighting and save those closest to you.

This was a very different way going about the Medusa curse and the fact if left me wanting more when I turned the last page thats priceless. Understanding that Ari is a tough character was amazing because she has this idea that its her fault and she needs to do anything necessary to get to those who were taken from her. But when Sebastian wants to help and doesn't take no for an answer leaves Ari to think its also because he lost someone. But the truth is far from that. When she met Sebastian she didn't ever think his haze would ever linger towards her. He really likes her and will do anything in his power to help her along the way. He is so dreamy it kinda hard to not think about him while reading and also what he tells Ari is so cute. She really is lucky because she found something she wasn't even searching for. Thats what I looking forward to in the future, Athena has it coming she really does deserve it.

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door
marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

My Take:

When your new to a small town in the middle of well no where it's hard trying to even think about making friends and for  Katy making an effort in a small town is crazy to even consider it. Katy is used to being alone though, she manages her blog and loves to find that next great book. So when her mom says to make the effort and introduce herself to the neighbors she does just that. What she didn't expect was to the see the most amazing guy who belonged on billboard ads and be seen everywhere, but that allusion is shattered the moment he opens his mouth. Yup life was a lot better without someone like Daemon to be an ass, and because his twin sister has an interest in Katy and wants to be her friend, so Katy of course wants to Dee friend as well. Daemon hates their friendship and even as so much as tells Dee in front of Katy that this shouldn't be happening. What is his deal right, can't a girl be friends without any complications.

The answer should have never been so hard to hear and when he tells her that his family isn't from around their its hard to believe. Because when a hot alien comes and rescues you any one would run for the hills right? For Katy though because she is 'glowing' with his essence, she needs to be near Daemon at all times. Like thats going to happen, she wouldn't even hung out with him if he was the last alien on earth. Except with just his look he is able to get under Katy skin and she doesn't like it one bit.

With light comes dark and because of her essence she is target number 1. Life shouldn't ever feel this complicated right, liking a guy and hating the same guy should be easy right. Nope, Katy has to not only look over her shoulder for the bad guys she also has to stay away from Ash who just happens to be Daemon's ex and of course one of them. Yup who said life couldn't get interesting in a small town and for Katy her connection to the biggest ass is just one of those things on her list. I loved this because 1 it's by Jennifer and 2 hot guy on cover = hot guy in my fantasies yup dreaming never felt so intriguing before.

5/5 stars, Daemon is now on my mind every second its kinda weird.

Review: The Dating Deal by Melanie Marks

The Dating Deal
Author: Melanie Marks
Pages:133
Publisher: Spring Creek Book Company
Release Date: August 3rd 2005

Available for Order: Amazon |Barnes and Noble

Come with me to the dance. Caitlin and I just broke up. I need a date, you need a date. Let’s just ... date. This isn’'t a noble gesture or anything. I don’'t do stuff like that. It'’s a deal. We'’re making a deal.”
Seventeen-year old Megan Turner thought her hard-drive was cleared before she sold her computer in a local online auction. What she didn'’t realize is that her journal was recoverable, and that her computer was purchased by someone she knew from school.

Suddenly Trent Ryan has a glimpse into the thoughts, feelings and testimony of “Megan the Mormon.” Upon peeking into Megan’'s heart, Trent discovers Megan has captured his. There’s only one problem. Megan only dates Mormons. Until Trent read Megan’s journal he didn’'t even know what a Mormon was. So Trent comes up with a plan——all he has to do is get Megan to agree to The Dating Deal.

My Take:

Being saved by the hottest guy in school is one thing, making a deal with said hot guy is a whole different story. Megan thought because she was a Mormon no one really noticed her, she didn't go to any parties, didn't drink and she never dates anyone who isn't Mormon. Its until Trent the hottest guy in school asks her to help him out. With the deal, she able to go to the dance which is only like days away and since he was so nice she decides to consider his proposal. What she doesn't get is he shows up to her church and even enrolls in sunday class, which he says its for his younger sister. Come on really when a hot guy does something like that, has to mean something right. What Megan has no idea is because of her getting attention from Trent, the whole school wants to know why her, especially his ex. Megan isn't anything special right? Wrong!

When Trent got a used computer he never thought in his wildest dreams that he would be able to read something that was so personal. It just happened that his computer belonged to Megan and all her files where recovered and since he had no idea until after he got to know Megan, he saw that Megan was getting hassled and he told himself just that one time say she is going with him and thats it. When he presented the deal he didn't think she would say yes and since than he finally was able to get to know her apart from her journal entries. He fell for the girl that he thought lived half way across the world never realizing that she was in his every day life.

Seeing as personal things were found, Megan didn't ever think he had her old computer and was able to read all her personal things, being mad didn't cover what she was thinking. Until she really needs him she is relentless into giving him her cold shoulder. But when  guy still attends your church its hard not to realize that he really did change into the kind of guy your parents would approve of. I really enjoyed this because even though Trent crossed a line, he had no idea until after he had fallen for a girl that was there in his life. What was kinda funny was that Megan deep down really did like Trent and even though she was all about the high road, Megan knew that Trent really did care about her and with his explanation as to why he read the entries, gave me hope that these two would patch things up. With another Melanie Marks masterpiece, I have to wonder what else she has that will have me wanting to be the girls that get the guy in the end.

The Unit are closing in and Demos needs one of his team to go deep cover.

Enter Suki.

Fashion obsessed, boy-crazy and more than a little kooky, Suki is a mind reader with a special talent for buying shoes and for listening in on private conversations.

Tasked with infiltrating the enemy (namely Jack and Alex) Suki rises to the challenge, leaving a trail of chaos, destruction (and a large room service bill) in her wake.

A prequel to the events of Hunting Lila and including many of the characters from the book, this short story told through Suki’s eyes, will have you laughing out loud and gripping the edge of your seat.

My Take:

This was a short story and I have to say being inside Suki head is awesome she is able to tell what everyone is thinking and when Demos needs her even though she is re-thinking her place on his team. She does what she is told even though it takes more telling her what to do than anything else. When she needs information on Jack and Alex, what you say around people who are part of a unit being trained to take down people like her. So when she lets slip something she is now a target and of course with the way Suki dresses its kinda hard to think no one will remember her.

This little short was awesome and getting to know what happened before Hunting Lila was kinda amazing. With this though I'm now even more anxious for the 2nd book because being inside Alex's head is one thing but being able to see him all the time is what any girl should want.

Review: Fall For Me by Melanie Marks

Fall For Me

When Zoey’s long-time boyfriend, Finn, cheats on her—kissing a girl he “just can’t resist”—he gives Zoey a “free pass,” telling her she can kiss any guy she wants. Finn is so cocky and sure of their relationship that the arrangement seems perfect. He’s not worried Zoey will fall for another guy, and he’s itching to get rid of his feelings of guilt.

But the thing is, Zoey knows exactly who she wants to kiss—longs to kiss— Finn’s best friend, Riley. But, she wants the kiss too much. She knows that. So, she resists the “Free Pass.” Still, she’s pushed into it when Finn loses a bet to Riley, and Riley wants his payment—a kiss from Zoey.

My Take:

What would you do if given a 'free pass' to kiss anyone, no mater who it is a kiss is a kiss and it comes with consequences. In Fall For Me, Zoey was just given that exact offer because her boyfriend kissed someone who he couldn't help but try. Even though she knows who she would kiss she still feels guilty about even having feelings toward Riley, who just happens to be her boss at the moment and also Finn's best friend. So yeah no kiss would ever be possible right. Since Finn is feeling guilty and offers Zoey a chance to get off, the pass is tempting. Riley is definitely  something to look at and plus Zoey has a reason to believe that Riley doesn't even like her. He is never around when its her shift and when they are working he stays in his office.

What Zoey doesn't know is that her so called boyfriend is a jerk and deserves to kicked to the curb, literally. Plus Riley is so into her, the reason why he is never there is because when she is all he can look at is her. She has his full attention and since he is the boss it works when she needs to pick up extra shifts and also when she really needs something. So when the truth is told about her boyfriend, can Zoey let someone like Riley in.

I really enjoyed this because it didn't feel rushed, I enjoyed the fact that Zoey was able to see the Riley really is a nice guy. I liked that even though it was all written on his face with his stares you knew Zoey thought she was no one special to him. What was lovely was the fact Riley had these beautiful things to tell her, and she was something special to him. All I have to say is that when it comes to Riley Zoey should be like Finn who?!

Review: His Kiss by Melanie Marks

His Kiss
Author: Melanie Marks
Pages:130

Release Date: November 3rd 2011

Available for Order: Amazon

Ally’s world was totally on track: the right boyfriend, the right school committees, the right plans. But then she kisses the school “bad boy.” And now nothing is right. Nothing! Because all she can think about is … His Kiss.

My Take:
What happens when in order to save your boyfriend you have to kiss someone would you do it? What if said kiss was the most passionate kiss ever and left you day dreaming all day. Ally's life was perfect, she had the perfect boyfriend and was involved with school committees, what changed was when she was kissed by the school's bad boy Griffen "the griff-master". In order to spare her boyfriend Aiden, Griffen agrees only if Ally gives him a kiss. The price for the safety of her boyfriend never seemed so easy, but when a kiss leaves lingering thoughts what's a girl to do. Over time the kiss just is just left that way, because her boyfriend is on the hockey team Ally must attend a party with him. But when he is all too flirty with a 'lab partner' Ally is not having a good time at all. While at the party Ally can't help but want to leave the party but since she needs to be a good girlfriend and show a front, and with teens the only game that is interesting is three minutes in heaven. But when Aiden decides to not disappoint his team mates he goes into the closet without his girl. Yup that scum bag, but when Griff gets picked his choice shouldn't have been a surprised right, wrong. Every head turned to see what the good girl would do. She went for it, and for her it felt so wrong and oh so right.

After that a kiss can linger on a mind for awhile, and with Aiden being the jerk he is and saying they grew apart, its Ally that decides that the kiss is something. Griff of course is the gentleman kinda, he knows to leave her be from time to time but also he knew what he was getting himself into. I fell for this because Ally really felt that first kiss and with her crush on 'The Griff-Master" a girl can only dream that a guy like that can look towards you. Griff is not a bad guy though, he maybe known to be over aggressive but when he is with Ally the whole thing eats your heart out.

This was the cutest little story that I really enjoyed and I couldn't myself but telling Ally that Aiden was a jerk and she of course deserved better. The best kiss of all time, yup this only happens once in a lifetime and with Griffen yeah like that would ever happen, maybe in like a million years. Ally is a lucky girl, and all she had to do was share a kiss and instantly bam!! she was his even if she didn't want to admit it. I can't wait to re-read this like soon because it was that amazing. This was the story that pushed me to believe in the power of a kiss. Plus with lips like his who wouldn't want him.

She remembers meeting Dylan and how her heart beat when Dylan touched her face, but nothing else. When Kara is sent to Demitar, the evil ruler of Inbetween, the truth is revealed. She is Dylan's Guardian and neither of them are who they thought they were.

Set in a darker version our own world, Morning Rising follows Kara as she tries to save Dylan from Demitar's clutches. She is given three days to find Dylan and get her out of Inbetween before she belongs to Demitar forever. Memories must be regained and powers restored if they have a chance of escaping. Each memory and sighting of Dylan helps Kara remember the love they once shared. If only she can help Dylan remember before it's too late.

My Take:

Ever wonder why you didn't feel wanted and that the world you lived in didn't seem right to you. For Kara Hart life wasn't always a joy until that is she meet Dylan. She knew the feelings she had for the strange girl wasn't right, but love isn't always so easy. But when you wake up with no recollection of where you are and how you got there, just that you remember a girl named Dylan what was she supposed to do stand around and do nothing. Kara needed answers and with vague memories of Dylan she knew what she had to do, go to the one that took her and hope that Dylan is there safe and sound. With nothing to lose Dylan sets off into the unknown, only to find out that yes she was taken and no she couldn't have Dylan. Demitar is the one man everyone is scared of and with his influence on Dylan he can have any world he wants and since he has her already his gives Kara three days to try and get her to the Daylands, the thing is Kara didn't even know what the Daylands were and where she was which was Inbetween, with time of the essence and a ring to let her know when time runs out she must put all her faith that Dylan isn't lost to her just needs to see Kara. Because Kara knows that they must have a connection that is unbreakable.

Along her journey Kara puts her trust in two men willing to put their own lives on the line, but with a warning that she will be betrayed she must follow her gut instinct and not allow those to get too close. With her own memories coming back to her and her old memories of earth vanishing Kara knows that life isn't always what it seems it just the people willing to help you along the way. With some help the battle has just begun and the war isn't over. Kara must be the guardian she was born to be and protect Dylan at all costs.

I really loved this, the whole thing was exciting and even though both Dylan and Kara are women it didn't bother me at all love is love and with their connection it was inevitable, and plus seeing things through Kara prospective  was nice because you knew how much she was willing to sacrifice for her best friend and also how much one event can lead to another so quickly. My hope is that this isn't over and that the story just begun, because with Kara anything can happen. The loved shared by both Kara and Dylan was so beautifully written that when Dylan hurt Kara I would feel for Kara so much but knew in my heart they were it, I loved every aspect of this idea and I can't wait for more readers to enjoy what was given to us all. This was precious, and I am so glad to have been given the chance to read it.

5/5 stars because it was well worth the journey

Review: As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott

As I Wake
Author: Elizabeth Scott
Pages:269
Publisher: Dutton Juvenile
Release Date: September  15th 2011

Available for Order: Amazon|Barnes and Noble

Ava is welcomed home from the hospital by a doting mother, lively friends, and a crush finally beginning to show interest. There's only one problem: Ava can't remember any of them - and can't shake the eerie feeling that she's not who they say she is.
Ava struggles to break through her amnesiac haze as she goes through the motions of high-school life, but the memories that surface take place in a very different world, where Ava and familiar-faced friends are under constant scrutiny and no one can be trusted. Ava doesn't know what to make of these visions, or of the boy who is at the center of them all, until he reappears in her life and offers answers . . . but only in exchange for her trust.

My Take:

Ever wonder that maybe there are different dimensions where are essence are there living a totally different life. Or maybe this universe is linked to others and has the same this as the one we live in but the complete opposite. For Ava waking up was just the beginning to why or how she ended up without any memory to understand. The women who says she is her mother is a total complete stranger, the street, the bed she woke up in even the cloths she is wearing. Nothing comes to Ava the only thing she feels at is that she doesn't belong there. When she starts having memories that happened but never actually happened Ava puts it together that everything is not what it seems. Going to school seems the only thing her doctors say might trigger things, as she talks to those who are Ava's friends she starts to remember a different type of group she grew up with who have the same faces but seem more weaker.

When Morgan shows up, Ava feels safe with him even though her mom says she needs to stay away from him. He is the only link she has to finding out the truth, she knows she can trust him and when she sleeps she sees him as if that life actually happened. But in reality it all happened, her mind is stronger than everyone anticipated and her link to Morgan is the only constant thing. With Morgan wanting her to follow him, Jane saying she loves her even without the memory, she must decide if fate is playing with her or not. Ava needs to figure who to keep close and who to keep distant, and when it comes to actual school or no life you would think it would be a no brainer. But what if you got the life you always wanted a second chance if you will, but in order to get it the one you love is the thing you lose, what would you do if you were Ava?

I liked the whole aspect of another world where everything is similar to the one you live on, same friends just different atmosphere. Ava lived a different life than her counter part did, the only thing was she was taken to this different place because she was 'needed' to. When her counter part died in the place she woke in she was pulled and put into the role to play her. Ava doesn't know who to believe the fact that her dreams paint a different picture is hard for her. The only thing she knows is that her dreams are actually becoming clearer and helping her understand what she lost. Even though Jane seems nice Ava doesn't feel apart of the 'Ava' life. It would totally weird if I find out my mom did that but love is the biggest factor when it comes to the logic of why and Ava must choose the path she most sees for herself. So if your want something out of the ordinary than As I Wake is right for you.
