Cover Reveal : Obsidian

I am so excited to be part of the cover reveal Obsidian by Jennifer  L. Armentrout!!

Obsidian will be released on December 6, 2011

Official Blurb:

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, outhouses, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring. Until I spotted my hot neighbor with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marked me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and the mark he left on me has me lit up like Las Vegas strip to the bad guys. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is.

And then things got really bad…

Review: The Lost Hero (Heroes of Olympus #1)

The Lost Hero
Author: Rick Riordan
Pages:553
Publisher: Hyperion
Release Date: October 12th 2010
Author Website
Available: Amazon|Barnes and Noble

Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up in a bus full of kids on a field trip. Apparently he has a girlfriend named Piper and a best friend named Leo. They’re all students at a boarding school for “bad kids.” What did Jason do to end up here? And where is here, exactly?

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare. Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out.

Leo has a way with tools. When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god.

My Take:
The Lost Hero starts off a couple months after the 5th Percy Jackson ended, Jason winds up in a bus holding hands with a total stranger. Piper and Leo try and tell Jason who he is, than all of a sudden trouble occurs, Jason is thrown into the world where his coach isn't really a coach but something different.  He learns a little about himself every moment but nothing sticking, the moment he reaches Camp Half-Blood with Leo and Piper and most of the campers are very interested about the new campers and which house they would go to. We see Annabeth but Percy Jackson is missing and no one knows where he went of too. A quest is given to them on which Jason is given, its to save Hera because she is trapped. One thing leads to another and our heroes may have saved the day but there is something else happening something that is my guess going to impact the rest of the series and be repeated until the end. Since I've read all of the Percy Jackson books I knew going into this one it would give me the most adventurous story of all of them. Riordan delivers big time, he gave me more to the story of the gods with both of attributes Roman and Greek. The three perspectives were so greatly correlated that I didn't feel left out when it went from one person to the other. I liked that it felt like I was alongside them and in a way I was. The next couple of weeks are going to be brutal because I want (NEED!!!) the next book The Son Of Neptune is out Oct 4th.

5/5 stars
